happy happy birthday matthew dear

So yesterday was Matt's birthday. It used to be that on someones birthday I would sit and tell them about the day they were born. But there are so many birthdays between that day and this, I'm not sure what I remember. There was blood, sweat, and swearing, I remember. There were no drugs, I don't know why and then an A-hole of a doctor complaining that I was going to take hours yet so he was going to go home and have some supper, and the nurses should call him "When I was doing something." like I was stalling on purpose. Then Matt turned and was getting born and the nurses were yelling at me to quit pushing and the doctor running back into the room just in time to catch Matt as he shot out in one rush. I remember the doctor juggling him as he tried to get a firmer grip. And I remember that Matt was the one with monkey toes, like he could hold a banana between his big toe and the others.
I read what April wrote about Matt being a con artist and that is how I remember him too. I knew he was conning me, but while he was conning, he was being nice and usually rubbing my shoulders. Matt was hard to resist.
When he was little, he was a cuddler. When he was older he was reasonable. When he was older still, he was smart and manipulative. Only in the most positive way of course. I can still see him in his cub scout uniform with his hair slicked down going door to door solicicting funds. He was hard to resist and he knew it.
To blog about Matt. ..
I don't know where to start or how to stop. He has been a fastenating character from the beginning. His most endearing quality, to me anyway, is that he listens and responds appropriatly, and has always been willing to talk to me even though I was his mother.
