The news is that we have an official move out date. The first buyer backed out and the house went back on the market. We showed it a dozen times in one weekend and ended up with four more offers. It just goes to show you that if you are willing to give a house away, you will find plenty of takers. So once the best offer was accepted, we have thirty days to vacate the premises. That would be Aug.6th
Gordon is out now picking up a U-Haul so we can take a second load to our storage unit in Eugene. It is the hottest day of the summer so far, so we will load up and leave after the sun goes down.
Moving has turned into a moving experience. We down sized last summer when we were getting the house ready to stage. But we still have so much stuff. Way more than any two people need. But it is all such good stuff. I know you are laughing your collective butts off, but one man's trash is another female garage shoppers treasures. However, picking up each and every thing you own one at a time really makes you aware of how much there is and ask yourself, "How much do I really like this?" Anyway, that is what Pop keeps asking.
This load is a little less tramatic for me since it a lot of garage stuff, which turns out is real important stuff too, only not to me.
So try not to get a mental of this next part but it was kind of fun. This morning at around 7:30 Gord and I were out in the back yard skimming and vaccumming the pool when Gordon decided to go in and change so he could take a little dip. So he left me sitting in my moomoo by the side of the pool. By the time he got back, I was splashing around in the pool in my underware. It was so freeing to just chuck my dress onto the chair and dive in. But after a while the air was filled with the sound of city workers just on the other side of our fence where they have been replacing trees. Suddenly I felt old and exposed and realized that swimming in just your garments is a lot like skinny dipping. It's not like anyone but Gord could see me, but it jerked me back to reality with a thump and sent me cringing and dripping into the house. I am really going to miss having a pool of our own. It's not like you can skinny dip in the occasional motel pool. Can you?
This is the plan now. We will get to stop and see Josh and Amy in Etna on the way up and back to Matt and Melissa's house. Pete and Jessica are coming next weekend. The weekend after that is Alicia Thomas' wedding in Hunnington Beach and the start of the men's yearly hiking trip. When the men get back is when we move. If you want to see us and or skinny dip in our pool, you are running out of time. love t
